Volleyball Recap: Nordhoff Comes Up Short

Nordhoff was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Providence Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on Friday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-16.

Yonah Zimmerman paced Nordhoff's offense, picking up four kills. Zimmerman got some help from Levi Bethea and his eight assists. Zimmerman was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Nordhoff's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Providence, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season.

Nordhoff has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Del Sol on the 18th. As for Providence, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Bishop Diego on the 18th.
