Preview: Evergreen Vikings vs. Bryan Golden Bears
Evergreen is 7-1 against Bryan since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Evergreen Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bryan Golden Bears at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Evergreen is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bryan in Ohio (Evergreen is ranked 182nd, while Bryan is ranked 582nd).
Last Friday, Evergreen was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 51-45 to Archbold.
Meanwhile, Bryan had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 48-37 victory over Bath on Saturday. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Bryan has managed all season.
Sam Herold was nothing short of spectacular: he scored 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Jaessing, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Evergreen's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-4. As for Bryan, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10.
Everything went Evergreen's way against Bryan in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as Evergreen made off with a 76-54 win. Will Evergreen repeat their success, or does Bryan have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
