Baseball Recap: Tooele Comes Up Short

Tooele lost against Cottonwood last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Tooele fell just short of Cottonwood by a score of 11-10. That's two games in a row now that the Buffaloes have lost by just one run.

Hunter Fawson and Luis Garcia did some serious damage despite the final result: Fawson scored a run while going 4-for-4, while Garcia scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Sutherland, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Even though they lost, Tooele always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive contests.

Tooele's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Cottonwood, the win keeps they at an undefeated 7-0.

While Tooele had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
