Baseball Game Preview: Merrimack Tomahawks vs. Dover Green Wave

Merrimack is 1-9 against Dover since June of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Tomahawks will head out on the road to square off against the Green Wave at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Merrimack 4, Dover 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Merrimack easily dispatched Portsmouth on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Tomahawks fell just short of Exeter by a score of 2-0 on Monday. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Tomahawks' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Dover waltzed into their game on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Owls an 8-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Green Wave, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Dover's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Merrimack, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Merrimack came up short against Dover in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, falling 7-2. Can the Tomahawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
