Basketball Recap: Carlin Takes a Loss

Carlin lost against Wells back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Carlin Railroaders lost 54-29 to the Wells Leopards. The Railroaders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-13.

When it comes to explaining why Carlin lost, don't look at Kylie Kennedy. Despite the final result, she posted 19 points and eight boards. That was a full 65.5% of Carlin's points, marking the third time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Carlin dropped their record down to 5-8 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Wells, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 12-5.

Carlin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 64-21 defeat against McDermitt on the 18th. As for Wells, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 43-21 loss against Eureka on the 17th.
