Recap: Mountain Range Mustangs vs. Loveland Red Wolves
The Mountain Range Mustangs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They secured a 85-81 W over Loveland. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Preston Brunton, who scored 28 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Quincy Helsel was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Loveland still got an impressive performance from Jackson Gebhardt, who went 6 for 7 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 3 assists. That's the first time this season that Gebhardt scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryder Eastin, who scored 16 points.
Even though they lost, Loveland were working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Mountain Range is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Loveland, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-7.
Mountain Range will head out on the road to challenge Monarch at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive. As for Loveland, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Horizon at 6:30 p.m. Horizon has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 251 points over their last four contests.
