Baseball Recap: R.J. Reynolds Comes Up Short

The R.J. Reynolds Demons came up short against the North Mecklenburg Vikings on Thursday and fell 6-2.

R.J. Reynolds saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Porter Lassiter, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. Those three stolen bases gave Lassiter a new career-high. Another was Joakim Rose, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

R.J. Reynolds has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. The win got North Mecklenburg back to even at 6-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. R.J. Reynolds will face off against Glenn at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. R.J. Reynolds is facing Glenn at the right time seeing as Glenn is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for North Mecklenburg, they will challenge Mallard Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. North Mecklenburg's pitchers better be ready for this one: Mallard Creek has averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
