Soccer Recap: Saturday's Win Is Boonville's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Boonville barely beat Battle the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Pirates' defense stepped up to hand the Spartans a 7-0 shutout on Saturday. The high-scoring effort was just what Boonville needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Boonville is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-8-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 30 goals over those eight matches. As for Battle, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Looking ahead, Boonville will head out on the road to take on Marshall at 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Battle, they will square off against Hickman at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
