Soccer Recap: Cerritos Takes a Loss

After flying high against Pioneer last Monday, Cerritos came back down to earth. The Cerritos Dons lost 4-1 to the Artesia Pioneers on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Dons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while the Pioneers are ranked 145th).

Cerritos' loss dropped their record down to 8-4-3. As for Artesia, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-2-4.

Cerritos will square off against Oxford Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Oxford Academy's last five games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Artesia, they will face off against Glenn at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Glenn is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3 goals per game this season.
