Belleview came tearing into Thursday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 win over the Vanguard Knights. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-5 back in February.

Not much got past Ya'Mari Reynolds, who gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Vanguard off the board.

On the hitting side, Ally Axe was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Belleview pushed their record up to 13-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Vanguard, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-8.

Belleview wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-2 victory against Interlachen on the 21st. As for Vanguard, they have also already played their next game, a 5-1 win against Trinity Catholic on the 21st.
