Baseball Recap: Brookland-Cayce Comes Up Short

Brookland-Cayce was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Aiken Thoroughbreds. The Bearcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Thoroughbreds earlier this season, when they won 6-5.

Brookland-Cayce saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bennett Plane, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Brookland-Cayce's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for South Aiken, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-13 record this season.

Brookland-Cayce does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Aiken, they will square off against Barnwell at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Thoroughbreds' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warhorses have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
