The Florida Christian Patriots will take on the Miami Country Day Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Florida Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They never let Immaculata-La Salle get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Kayla Diaz made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Florida Christian got a massive performance out of Emily Ruiz, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Ruiz has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Emma Medina, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and three RBI.
Florida Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .909. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Miami Country Day made sure to put some runs up on the board against Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart on Wednesday. The Spartans put the hurt on the Cyclones with a sharp 13-1 victory. Considering the Spartans' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Like Florida Christian, Miami Country Day also got a great game from a two-way player: Collins Ames. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Ames has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eryn Mayo, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Zoey Campos was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Florida Christian's win bumped their record up to 16-8. As for Miami Country Day, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.
Miami Country Day's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Florida Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. It's a different story for Miami Country Day, though, as they've only averaged .213. Will they be able to contain Florida Christian's hitters?
Florida Christian took their victory against Miami Country Day in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
