Soccer Game Preview: Lincoln County vs. Screven County

The Lincoln County Red Devils will challenge the Screven County Gamecocks at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lincoln County barely beat Washington County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Red Devils put the hurt on the Golden Hawks with a sharp 4-1 win on Wednesday. Lincoln County might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Screven County's game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Portal. Screven County haven't had any issues with Portal recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Kaylin Long was the driving force of Screven County's attack as she scored both of Screven County's goals, bringing her season total up to 23 goals.

Screven County pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five games. As for Lincoln County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season.
