Volleyball Recap: Avalon Takes a Loss

Avalon lost against Samueli Academy last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Lancers fell just short of the Firewolves by a score of 3-2.

Avalon took Samueli Academy into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-0, 25-0, 18-25, 18-25, 15-9.

Avalon's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Samueli Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season.

Avalon will be playing at home against Magnolia Science Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Samueli Academy, they will venture away from home to take on La Mirada at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Firewolves are facing the Matadores at the right time seeing as the Matadores are stuck on a 16-game losing streak.
