Softball Game Preview: Peninsula Panthers vs. Palos Verdes Sea Kings

The Peninsula Panthers will face off against the Palos Verdes Sea Kings at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.

On Wednesday, Peninsula came up short against Redondo Union and fell 10-5. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Palos Verdes). They put the hurt on Wiseburn- Da Vinci with a sharp 12-1 win on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Sea Kings sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

The team relied heavily on Daniella Boccanfuso, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ellie Correa, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Palos Verdes was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wiseburn- Da Vinci only posted a batting average of .235.

Palos Verdes' victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Peninsula, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-13.

Peninsula might still be hurting after the 13-0 loss they got from Palos Verdes in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
