Basketball Game Preview: Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans vs. Douglas County Huskies

After both having extra time off, the Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans and the Douglas County Huskies will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Fountain-Fort Carson is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Rock Canyon two weeks ago (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Fountain-Fort Carson came up short against Rock Canyon, falling 55-35. The match marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Douglas County). They came out on top in a nail-biter against Pueblo County last Saturday, sneaking past 64-62.

Fountain-Fort Carson better keep an eye on Vaughn Baldwin. He was instrumental in Douglas County's win, putting up 16 points and five steals. That's the most points Baldwin has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Wynne, who posted 12 points and seven rebounds.

Douglas County's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
