Softball Recap: Westwood Redhawks vs. West Florence Knights
Westwood extended their losing streak to six on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 6-18 in the process. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Florence Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-3 on Tuesday.
Westwood saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Annarea Wilson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
As for West Florence, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games.
On West Florence's side, Ashlyn Daisy was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Ava Gainey was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
As of now, neither Westwood nor West Florence have any future games scheduled.
