Baseball Recap: Coral Springs Charter Takes a Loss

Coral Springs Charter blew Westminster Academy out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Westminster Academy got their revenge. The Coral Springs Charter Panthers fell just short of the Westminster Academy Lions by a score of 3-1. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

Tyler Stertzbach was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, Coral Springs Charter saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yadisson Karbalaieasghar, who went 1-for-2 with one double. Rodney Chung also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Coral Springs Charter now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Westminster Academy, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-5.
