Soccer Game Preview: West vs. Corcoran

The West Vikings will take on the Corcoran Panthers in a tournament on Friday.

West came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to Garces Memorial. While losing is never fun, West can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 416th, while Garces Memorial are ranked 75th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Corcoran, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Chavez on Thursday. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Corcoran were the better team in the second half.

West's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2-1. As for Corcoran, their win bumped their record up to 6-1-1.
