Baseball Recap: Meek Has No Trouble Against Belgreen

Meek barely beat Belgreen the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over the Bulldogs on Saturday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Tigers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Meek let Conner Lane and Evan McCay run wild. Lane went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple, while McCay went 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Meek is 4-2 when Lane posts two or more runs, but 5-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Skylar Farley, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meek's victory bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Belgreen, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.

Looking ahead, Meek will be playing at home against Brilliant at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Belgreen, they will host Shoals Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
