Basketball Recap: Rifle's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Rifle needed a changed in momentum after dropping four straight games and they got it from Alex Gonzalez. The Rifle Bears secured a 66-61 W over the Cedaredge Bruins on Tuesday thanks in part to Gonzalez, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in boards.

Several Bruins players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brady Cooper, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 22 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Scott, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.

Rifle's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Cedaredge, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Rifle will challenge North Fork at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Cedaredge, they will take on Mancos at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
