Softball Recap: Germantown Falls Short of Lewisburg in the Playoffs

Germantown and Lewisburg squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Germantown had to settle for second. They lost 12-5 to the Patriots. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Mavericks have suffered against the Patriots since April 27, 2017.

Presley Merkich made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Glasgow, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Germantown's loss dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Lewisburg, they pushed their record up to 18-13 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

As of now, neither Germantown nor the Patriots have any future games scheduled.
