Baseball Recap: Falls City Comes Up Short

Falls City had lost eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 2-13 to make it nine. They came up short against the Nebraska City Pioneers, falling 15-0. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 8-2 to the Pioneers when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Nebraska City, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by eight runs or more this season.

For Nebraska City's part, Kaiden Klassen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave Klassen a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Nebraska City let James Fairbanks and Landon Ferguson run wild. Fairbanks went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run, while Ferguson went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave Fairbanks a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Derek Van Arsdol, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.
