Football Recap: Springfield Picks Up 11th Consecutive Win

Springfield had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Upper Dublin Cardinals 49-27 on Friday. Considering the Cougars have won seven matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Despite the defeat, Upper Dublin saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sonny Watlington picked up 119 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Watlington showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 66 yards. Lawson Tyler was another key player, having thrown for 261 yards and two touchdowns.

The win keeps Springfield at an undefeated 11-0. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 40.5 points this season. As for Upper Dublin, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Springfield will face off against Penncrest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Upper Dublin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
