Football Game Preview: Thomas Jefferson Spartans vs. Riverdale Ridge Ravens + Official Tickets

The Thomas Jefferson Spartans will face off against the Riverdale Ridge Ravens at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Thomas Jefferson is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Montbello just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. The game between the Spartans and the Warriors didn't end well, with the Spartans falling 35-19.

Meanwhile, Riverdale Ridge put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Grand Junction Central 42-13. The result was nothing new for the Ravens, who have now won seven matchups by 29 points or more so far this season.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Riverdale Ridge, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Dean Presswood, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Riverdale Ridge didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Amoni Schoengarth, Carmelo Chavez, and Josh Guinto picked up one apiece.

Riverdale Ridge's win bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Thomas Jefferson, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Thomas Jefferson strolled past Riverdale Ridge when the teams last played back in November of 2021 by a score of 28-14. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
