Volleyball Recap: Mission Vista Extends Winning Streak to Three

Mission Vista had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Mt. Carmel Sundevils by a score of 3-1. Mission Vista has seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Mt. Carmel, too.

Mission Vista had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 16-25, 25-19, 25-20, 25-18.

Maya Hopkins paced Mission Vista's offense, picking up 12 kills. Hopkins got some help from Morgan Duse-Anthony and her 34 assists. Duse-Anthony was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Mission Vista's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Mt. Carmel, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-8.

Coming up, Mission Vista will take on Ramona in a tournament on Friday. As for Mt. Carmel, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Rancho Bernardo at 6:00 p.m.
