Baseball Recap: Westerville North Gets the Win

While Westerville North's victory against Bishop Ready wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Silver Knights 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since May 1, 2024.

Adrian Arroyo looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two).

On the hitting side, Caleb Williams was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted over his last 11 contests. Emmerson Mason was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Westerville North is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-7-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bishop Ready, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.

Westerville North will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Dublin Scioto at 4:30 p.m. As for Bishop Ready, they will head out to square off against London at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Red Raiders will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Silver Knights surely won't give up without a fight.
