Volleyball Recap: Sophia Cox's Big Game Can't Quite Lead the Gregory School over Andrada Polytechnic

The Gregory School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Andrada Polytechnic Mavericks.

The Gregory School started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 26-24, 25-18, 25-20.

The Gregory School lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Sophia Cox, who had 14 digs.

The Gregory School's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Andrada Polytechnic, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

The Gregory School will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on St. Augustine Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on the 21st. As for Andrada Polytechnic, they will be playing at home against Sabino at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
