Volleyball Recap: Crest Ridge Starts Season with Win on the Road

Crest Ridge had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Sacred Heart Gremlins, sneaking past 3-2. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Gremlins recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Crest Ridge took Sacred Heart into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 19-25, 16-25, 25-20, 15-10.

Despite the defeat, Sacred Heart saw an underclassman step up: freshman Sophie Hesse had 15 digs.

Sacred Heart's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Crest Ridge will challenge Smithton at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Sacred Heart, they will head out on the road to face off against Concordia at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
