Softball Game Preview: Forestview Jaguars vs. South Point Red Raiders

Forestview is a perfect 10-0 against South Point since March of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Jaguars will take on the Red Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Forestview came up short against Kings Mountain on Friday, falling 7-1. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Olivia Hensley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Forestview saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lily Cabe, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, South Point unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 11-1 to Crest. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Red Raiders have suffered since March 18th.

South Point's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Forestview, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.

Forestview came out on top in a nail-biter against South Point in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 8-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jaguars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
