Basketball Game Preview: Hoover Vikings vs. Louisville Leopards

The Hoover Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Louisville Leopards at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Hoover is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Montour just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Sunday. They fell to the Spartans 65-60. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 110th in Ohio, while the Spartans are ranked 11th in Pennsylvania).

Meanwhile, Louisville waltzed into their game on Saturday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They took their match with ease, bagging a 68-36 victory over the Aviators. The Leopards have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 23 points or more this season.

Hoover's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Louisville, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Hoover suffered a grim 69-47 defeat to Louisville in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Hoover avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
