Basketball Game Preview: Crosby Cougars vs. West Fork Gators

The Crosby Cougars will take on the West Fork Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Crosby has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests.

Last Friday, Crosby didn't have quite enough to beat Pasadena and fell 59-57. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by exactly two points.

Despite their defeat, Crosby saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. RYLAN ANDERSON, who went 7 for 17 on his way to 22 points, was perhaps the best of all. Those 22 points gave ANDERSON a new career-high. PHILLIP JACKSON was another key player, putting up 11 points and seven boards.

Even though they lost, Crosby smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, West Fork came up short against Pasadena on Tuesday and fell 49-40. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Crosby's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-13. As for West Fork, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-14.

Crosby took their victory against West Fork in their previous meeting on January 7th by a conclusive 52-31. Will Crosby repeat their success, or does West Fork have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
