Football Recap: Midd-West Comes Up Short

Midd-West extended their losing streak to eight on Friday, dropping them down to 1-8. They were outmatched by the Mifflinburg Wildcats and fell 62-0. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 513th, while the Wildcats are ranked 127th).

Witten Carter threw for 59 yards on nine of 23 attempts. Konnor Kullman was his top target, picking up 37 receiving yards.

As for Mifflinburg, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2. Considering they have won seven games by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

A big part of Mifflinburg's win came down to the chemistry between Chad Martin and his top target Landen Murray. Martin threw for 284 yards and five TDs on perfect 8-for-8 passing while Murray picked up 259 receiving yards and four scores. With that strong performance, Murray is now averaging an impressive 114.1 receiving yards per game. Dylan Catherman also helped with two touchdowns in total.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Midd-West will challenge Holy Redeemer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mifflinburg, they will face off against Lewisburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
