Mountain View Academy is 7-1 against Mid-Peninsula since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the Mountain View Academy Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Mid-Peninsula Dragons at 5:30 p.m. on February 13th. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with ten consecutive losses for Mountain View Academy and 13 for Mid-Peninsula.
Mountain View Academy lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Monday was a bit more commanding. Despite their loss, Mountain View Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Ricardo Malo, who went 6 for 7 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 0 assists, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Malo has scored all season. Daniel Malo was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Mountain View Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as More pulled down 18 offensive rebounds.
Meanwhile, Mid-Peninsula was the victim of a rough 61-40 loss at the hands of North Valley Baptist on Thursday. Mid-Peninsula was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-16.
Mountain View Academy dropped their record down to 3-13 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Mid-Peninsula, their loss dropped their record down to 1-18.
Mountain View Academy beat Mid-Peninsula 53-40 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mountain View Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
