Baseball Recap: Covenant Classical Comes Up Short

If Covenant Classical was riding high fresh off their 13-0 takedown of Abilene Christian two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cavaliers took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mansfield Homeschool Knights on Monday. The Cavaliers haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Covenant Classical saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hudson Williams, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Covenant Classical's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Mansfield Homeschool, they pushed their record up to 22-6-2 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home.

Covenant Classical and Mansfield Homeschool should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Cavaliers will take on Christian Life Preparatory at 4:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (362 vs. 821). Meanwhile, Mansfield Homeschool (ranked 65th) will meet Shelton (ranked 1096th) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
