Recap: Brookfield Central Lancers vs. Indian Trail Hawks
The Brookfield Central Lancers pushed their score all the way to 71 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 79-71 hit to the loss column at the hands of Indian Trail. Even though they lost, Brookfield Central's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 54 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Despite the loss, Brookfield Central saw an underclassman step up: Dylan Romero dropped a double-double on 30 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Witon, who scored 9 points along with 8 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Brookfield Central and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Indian Trail, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brookfield Central will challenge Wauwatosa East at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Indian Trail, they will head out on the road to face off against Shoreland Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Shoreland Lutheran knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Indian Trail likes a good challenge.
