Football Recap: South Eugene Starts Season with Win Against Springfield

South Eugene gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They managed a 31-25 win over the Springfield Millers.

Despite the loss, Springfield still got an impressive performance from Kailie Hill, who picked up 36 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 68 yards on only five carries. Kennedi Cofey got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

South Eugene has already played their next contest (against North Bend), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Springfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 39-6 victory against Willamette on the 10th.
