Basketball Recap: Caitlyn Jones' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Rolesville over Terry Sanford

Rolesville was the 55-28 winner over Terry Sanford when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Rolesville Rams came up short against the Terry Sanford Bulldogs on Saturday, falling 75-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Rams have suffered since December 30, 2023.

Rolesville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caitlyn Jones, who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Gabrielle Matthews, who earned 13 points.

Jaidiah Blake was her usual excellent self, going 12 of 20 on her way to 28 points along with six boards and six steals for Terry Sanford. The dominant performance gave Blake a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Breonna Roaf, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten assists.

Rolesville is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-9. As for Terry Sanford, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rolesville will challenge Knightdale at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Knightdale is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.9 points per game this season. As for Terry Sanford, they will square off against Westover at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Terry Sanford knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matches -- so hopefully Westover likes a good challenge.
