The Drillers will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Falcons at 4:00 p.m. Considering Bakersfield has lost eight straight at home and Independence three straight on the road, this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum.

Bakersfield came into this matchup off a tough 15-run loss on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Independence by a score of 7-5 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Drillers have suffered since April 14th.

Noah Medrano was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
