Volleyball Game Preview: Kennedy Thunderbirds vs. Delano Tigers

The Kennedy Thunderbirds are taking a road trip to take on the Delano Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Kennedy and Taft had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Thunderbirds fell 3-1 to the Wildcats on Thursday. Thunderbirds fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Wildcats since Thursday.

The 3-1 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Kennedy lost were decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-23, 18-25, 25-23.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Delano faced off against Taft on Tuesday. The Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Wildcats. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Delano wouldn't go down easily and took Taft into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-21, 21-25, 25-22, 15-11.

Delano's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Kennedy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13-2.

Kennedy skirted past Delano 3-2 in their previous matchup back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunderbirds since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
