Volleyball Recap: St. Joseph's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

St. Joseph was the 2-1 winner over Columbus when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Flyers fell 2-0 to the Cardinals on Thursday. The loss put an end to the Flyers' undefeated start to the season.

While St. Joseph ultimately came up short, they really made Columbus work, particularly in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-19.

Jordyn Johnston paced St. Joseph's offense, picking up ten kills. Johnston got some help from Zoey Henning and her 15 assists. Jordy Ybarra controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Having lost for the first time this season, St. Joseph fell to 2-1. As for Columbus, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

St. Joseph has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Devine on the 14th. As for Columbus, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Lexington on the 14th.
