Baseball Recap: Ashville Comes Up Short

Ashville lost against Oneonta back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bulldogs lost 9-2 to the Redskins.

Ashville got a good showing from Nathan Nichols, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Nichols has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ashville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charley Hyde, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Ashville has also been struggling recently as they've lost 15 of their last 16 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-19 record this season. As for Oneonta, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-8.

While Ashville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
