Flag Football Recap: Keegan Doherty and Averie Gibson Pace Casteel Defense

Casteel fell victim to O'Connor and their airtight defense on Thursday. They fell 6-0 to the Eagles. The Colts were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Even if they lost, Casteel's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Keegan Doherty and Averie Gibson, who racked up all four sacks between them.

The loss snapped Casteel's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record. As for O'Connor, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Casteel is taking a road trip to challenge Higley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for O'Connor, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Marana at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Eagles 9.4, the Tigers 3.5) so any points scored will be well earned.
