Basketball Recap: Kaycee Takes a Loss

Kaycee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Niobrara County Tigers an easy 44-21 victory. The Buckaroos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2020.

Niobrara County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tessa Manning, who posted six points along with six boards and five assists. Manning is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Paige Potter was another key player, putting up ten points.

Kaycee's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Niobrara County, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Kaycee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 49-26 defeat against Lingle-Fort Laramie on the 20th. As for Niobrara County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 48-31 win against HEM on the 20th.
