Recap: Papillion-LaVista Monarchs vs. Burke Bulldogs
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Millard South, the Papillion-LaVista Monarchs were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 70-53 victory over Burke. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Papillion-LaVista also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2022.
Brock Rahl was the offensive standout of the game as he went 8 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Richardson, who scored seven points along with five assists.
Papillion-LaVista has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Burke, they bumped their record down to 3-8 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road.
Papillion-LaVista won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Platteview at 9:00 p.m. on January 19th. Platteview has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests. Burke will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Omaha Northwest at 2:45 p.m. on January 20th.
