Basketball Game Preview: Fallbrook Warriors vs. San Diego Jewish Academy Lions

The Fallbrook Warriors will head out to challenge the San Diego Jewish Academy Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Fallbrook has eight straight victories, San Diego Jewish Academy has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Tuesday, Fallbrook beat Kearny 82-71. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while the Komets are ranked 582nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fallbrook got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Petey Pizzo out in front who went 9 for 18 on his way to 23 points and four steals. Pizzo has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Xavier Charland was another key player, going 5 of 11 on his way to 16 points.

Meanwhile, San Diego Jewish Academy came up short against High Tech SD on Tuesday and fell 68-56.

Fallbrook's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 85.2 points per game. As for San Diego Jewish Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
