Basketball Recap: Cass Hejnowski and Roan Vasko Secure Win for Lowell

While Lowell's victory against Boone Grove wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Red Devils narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Wolves 41-38. The victory was some much needed relief for the Red Devils as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Lowell was led to victory by Roan Vasko and Cass Hejnowski. Vasko posted 13 points and five rebounds, while Hejnowski went 6-for-9 to rack up 13 points and three steals. Lucas Brady also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Several Wolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Salvador Montes, who scored ten points and six boards. Braydon Maier was another key player, putting up eight points.

The win got Lowell back to even at 3-3. As for Boone Grove, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lowell and Hobart will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The game will give the Red Devils their first taste of in-conference action this season. Boone Grove will take on Tri-Township in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
