Softball Recap: West Lincoln Rebels vs. Bandys Trojans
After flying high against Burns last Friday, West Lincoln came back down to earth. The West Lincoln Rebels took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bandys Trojans on Tuesday. The Rebels have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.
West Lincoln saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abree Sutton, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Kaitlyn Carpenter also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Even though they lost, West Lincoln hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bandys struck out seven times.
West Lincoln's record now sits at 2-2. As for Bandys, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-3.
Coming up, West Lincoln will look to defend their home field on Thursday against North Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. North Lincoln will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something West Lincoln surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bandys, they will head out to face off against Lake Norman at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
