Volleyball Recap: Mackenzie Moore Key Part of Team Effort in Ramblers Win

There's no place like home for Cathedral Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Nardin Academy Gators with a sharp 3-0 win on Saturday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in September.

Cathedral Prep not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Nardin Academy between 15 and 17 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-17, 25-15.

Cathedral Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mackenzie Moore led the charge by getting ten digs and three aces. What's more, Moore posted two kills, the most she's had over her last five matches. Colette Speros was another key player, getting 12 kills, five digs, and four aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Cathedral Prep was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in six consecutive matchups.

Cathedral Prep has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-10-1 record this season. As for Nardin Academy, their defeat ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 6-5.

Cathedral Prep has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Mercyhurst Prep on the 7th. Nardin Academy has also already played their next matchup (against Sacred Heart Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
