Baseball Game Preview: East Central Eagles vs. Crosby-Ironton Rangers

The East Central Eagles will take on the Crosby-Ironton Rangers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. East Central will be strutting in after a win while Crosby-Ironton will be coming in after a loss.

East Central will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Braham, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Eagles put the hurt on the Bombers with a sharp 9-2 victory on Tuesday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by seven runs or more this season.

East Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tristan Wentworth, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Reace Youngberg was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Crosby-Ironton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Pine City. Rangers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Dragons since on Tuesday.

Crosby-Ironton's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for East Central, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
